3 As through the Bay o£ Biscay O this galyant ship did plow, One night among the sailors There was a pretty row;
They arose from their hammocks, Their sleep it did destroy; And they swore about the groaning Of the handsome cabin boy.
4 "O doctor, O doctor,"
O this cabin boy did cry;
The sailors swore by all was good
The cabin boy -would die;
The doctor ran with all his might,
And laughing at the fun
To think the cabin boy must have
A daughter or a son.
5 So they all took a bumper, And they drank success to trade, Likewise to the cabin boy Who was neither man nor maid. And if the waves don't rise again Our sails to destroy,
We'll soon ship some more Like the handsome cabin boy. |
